In the past two days, Americans have turned from a people in denial to a people under siege. In our lifetimes, we have not seen workplaces, schools, professional sports and concerts so dramatically affected except for a few days after September 11, 2001.
We can expect most people to act reasonably, but some will seek to find answers in hatred and blame, especially when people start to die in large numbers. Unfortunately, that is human nature and history instructs us clearly.
I urge you: Live in a world of scientific fact and expert advice, not a fictional narrative. Avoid hate for fantasy evildoers and love for fantasy cures. Wash your hands.
